“I love the challenge of helping my students find their voice, put words on the page that reflect their good ideas, and fight through blocks.”

My main goal for my students is to understand themselves better as writers, to see their strengths and weaknesses, and to learn strategies to be more effective editors. I offer instruction for students in grades 3-12 that enhances the current curriculum in their local school districts and provides additional guidance and practice in all writing genres.

Academic and Developmental Instruction

High school students often find the prospect of writing their college essay daunting, mostly because they find it difficult to write about themselves. I ease their minds with two pieces of advice: have fun and be yourself. When they embrace their unique experiences and voice, writing the essay is often enjoyable and rewarding. I work 1-on-1 with students, in person or on zoom, to help their story bring out who they are and what matters to them.

College Personal Statement & Supplemental Essays

After a stressful few months of producing drafts that didn’t feel right, within a few sessions, Judith helped me land on a topic and craft an essay that felt authentic and that I was confident submitting. She always made sure my voice and ideas were at the forefront and gave me the confidence boosts I needed throughout the process. I am forever grateful for her help, patience, and kindness during a stressful time!
